Registration: 8.15 9.00am Venue: Dept of Infrastructure Theatrette, 29th Floor Nauru House, 80 Collins St, Melbourne
This is a day-long technical workshop conducted by Bicycle Victorias expert staff. It will provide transport professionals with the tools to plan,
prioritise and deliver high-quality bicycle networks.
The day begins with a virtual tour of a variety of bicycle facilities from Australia and overseas. This will be followed by interactive
presentations on bicycle planning, including developing a 15-year network, prioritising routes, designing segments and developing a works program.
In the afternoon, we will ride some of Melbournes bicycle paths and lanes. This will give participants direct experience of the level of service and
safety that different designs provide. The 8km tour, with practical exercises on route, begins after a ferry ride to Williamstown. It will take in bicycle paths, lanes, intersections and roundabouts and is followed
by a facilitated discussion. Participants will be taken back to the city by bus.
